THE PROPOSITION by Katie AshleySTOLE MY HEART!!

heartheartheartheartheart

I loved this story. We FINALLY have some older characters. I was growing very tired that all our main events in every love story are just in their early twenties. I loved how they met, that there was a back story, that she recognized she had options to get what she wanted, and that her two BFFs were so funny.  I appreciated the relationships both Emma and Aiden have with their families and how these characters are also woven into the story. The story itself is a little farfetched, and I felt like the ending did not do justice to the rest of the story. I wouldn’t call this a cliffhanger – it just ended.  Good thing there is a second book.  But I loved Emma as our female lead – she is such a strong woman who knows exactly what she wants. “Have you ever wanted something so bad you think you’d die if you don’t have it? That the mere thought of it keeps you up at night. You can’t sleep, you can’t eat, you can’t drink. You are so consumed by that desire nothing else matters, and you’re not sure life is worth living if you can’t have it.” This book is Ms. Ashley at her best. This dialogue driven story is full of witty banter between Emma and Aiden and all of the fabulous supporting characters. Aiden’s interaction with his nephews is priceless, and his relationship with his Dad is just beautiful. In the beginning Aiden is only interested in sex – and it’s easy to NOT LIKE him. But the minute he interacts with his family – a beautiful soul emerges. Thanks Ms. Ashley for FINALLY giving me a hot, sexy, and romantic love story with ADULTS!!
