TORN: The Connections Series #2 by Kim Karr

My closing line for my review of Connected (the first book in this series) is Best Ending Ever. I typically do not like cliffhangers, but I was ready and willing to wait for this one. The love story of River and Dahlia is so very passionate, but knowing that Ben was set on returning to Dahlia’s life created an entire new level of intensity for this romantic story. The best part of this book is the secondary characters. I simply love Amazing Grace, Bell, Xander, Aerie, and EVEN Ben; and feel they give incredible depth to River and Dahlia. As a music fan, I always love when music is layered into a story. Connecting a song to the facts of the story delivers an emotional tug to the reader’s soul. I’m happy with my HEA ending, and love when I get some semblance of closure for my romantic duo. My only wish is that there was more dialogue. I LOVE dialogue driven stories. There were times, the descriptions of the scenes were so detailed, I felt myself skimming to get to the crux of the story. This is my personal taste, and has no reflection on the talent of this author. Ms. Karr tells a great story, and I’m anxious to hear more about the characters in River and Dahlia’s family. I will continue to look forward to more great books from Kim Karr.
