STOLE MY HEART!! (BUT IT HURTS A LOT)
I’m sorry to have to repeat myself. I truly love AND hate this story. Our leading lady, Emma, has had enough misery for 100 lifetimes. After surviving a world that most of us could NEVER imagine, Emma begins to gain control of her life and develop an interesting story with Evan. I thought we might actually get the happily ever after that I so desperately crave. While reading the first half of volume #2, I was finally able to “breathe” again. Then, all hell breaks loose. The second half is SO emotional, I found myself in a little bit of a “funk” while reading it. I enjoyed seeing more of the adults in this volume and thought the Mathews and McKinley families were developed well. I did NOT like the introduction of Jonathan, and am hoping that he does not reappear in volume #3. Again, my advice READ THE EPILOGUES from volumes #1 and #2 VERY CAREFULLY. I felt the need to go back read book one’s epilogue after I read all of volume #2. As with the first, have tissues, a glass of wine, and book #3 ready to go.
