BREATHE (Sea Breeze #1) by Abbi Glines

This is the story of Sadie and Jax. Sadie won’t be working as a lifeguard at the beach like she thought she would. Instead she has to take over for her mother as a domestic servant for one of the wealthy families who spend their summers at the beach. With her single mother’s pregnancy and refusal to work – Sadie takes the job in order to survive. Sadie is surprised to learn that the owners of the house are none other than Jax Stone – the latest teen rocker heartthrob. Sadie is not impressed by his celebrity and he is definitely drawn to her. Jax tries to fight his attraction because relationships just don’t work in his world. The two quickly learn they can’t “breathe” without each other.  The story is a bit predictable, but once again I am drawn to supporting characters. Loved Sadie’s relationship with Marcus – whom we will see in the next book, and I didn’t like her mother – which is OK because we’re not supposed to like her. I guess I would call this a modern day Cinderella without the step-sisters!! The writing was OK, but way too much narration.  I love dialogue – I just didn’t get enough from this one.  This was Ms. Glines’ first book – THREE HEARTS for the first one!!
