This is my first read of a J. Lynn book, and I have to say I’m intrigued. I’m looking forward to more. This is the story of Cameron and Avery. Avery has picked up her entire life and moved far away from home in order to escape a tragic event from her past, and some very unloving parents. On her first day of college she literally runs into Cameron, and both are swept off their feet. Over the next few months Avery continually finds herself falling into the company of Cameron, and she’s at a loss of what to do with her very strong attraction to him. Cameron is popular, and comes from a great family; but he’s harboring a few secrets as well. What keeps this story moving is a well-developed plot. Avery’s friends are entertaining and Cameron’s parents are simply delightful. I always wish for more dialogue, and some chapters gave me just that – but far too often the reader is only offered Avery’s thoughts. I would have loved alternating POVs, so that I had a better insight into Cameron’s thoughts as well. The biggest problem here was editing! HarperCollins Publishers should be ashamed here ….
